ROYAL WIMBLEDON OPEN 2010
Men’s 36 hole Open Amateur Scratch Meeting for The Royal Wimbledon Trophy (Surrey County Golf Union Order of Merit Event with The Baker Salver for Royal Wimbledon Members Only) is being held on Saturday 26th June 2010.
Entry Conditions:
1. Scratch Medal competition in accordance with the Rules of Golf and any Royal imbledon Local Rules as approved by R & A Rules Ltd. Distance measuring devices permitted.
2. Handicap limit of 4 or below at time of entry. Current handicap certificates will be required on the day.
3. Field limited to 66 players selected by ballot if necessary.
4. Accepted entrants will be granted a weekday practice round by arrangement with the Secretary’s Office. Course will be closed on 24th and 25th June.
5. The Royal Wimbledon Trophy will be engraved with the winners’ name and retained by the Club; the winner will be given an engraved memento and prize.
6. The Baker Salver may only be won by a Royal Wimbledon Member competitor.
7. Closing date for entries, Monday 1st June 2010 and draw times will be sent out within 24 hours thereafter.
8. Competitors must be present at the prize-giving to qualify for, and may only win, one prize.
9. Entrance fees will be refunded to entrants not selected, if a ballot is required. Refunds under other circumstances will be at the Committee’s discretion.
10. Ride on buggies not permitted.
11. In the event of a tie for the 36 hole first prize, a sudden death medal play off will be held repeatedly over the 1st & 18th holes, all other ties will be decided by count-back over the last 18,9,6,3 holes etc.
12. Entry fee £50 (Royal Wimbledon Members £40) to include morning coffee and bacon rolls, soup and sandwich lunch, rolling buffet dinner and prizes.
Information
1. With prior notice, soup and sandwich lunches can be arranged for caddies or visitors at £8 per head.
2. Denim clothing and trainers are not acceptable.
3. Smart casual attire, not golf clothing from the day’s play, tie required for dinner and prize giving.
Administration
All matters relating to this competition will be settled by the Committee whose decision will be final.
